Hands down to the ball
If I want to hit a little fade to the right, or if I have a difficult lie, I push the club down the more vertical, black line to hit down on the ball. This move gets me through the rough far better than the other swing. I give up a little distance with this swing, and it's very difficult to control the long clubs with it, but when I'm in trouble, I'm far more concerned with getting the ball back in play than I am with hitting spectacular shots.
Learn the different "feels" of these two swings, so that you can execute either at will.
